1,000-acre Billy Creek Fire burning near Idaho-Washington state border

SNAKE RIVER, Idaho – According to the Idaho Department of Lands, the Bill Creek Fire has now grown to 1,000 acres.

The department reported that the fire is currently at 1,000 acres, with structures located approximately a mile away and facing erratic winds. Assistance is being provided by a large air tanker from the Washington Department of Natural Resources.

UPDATE 6:45 P.M.

Fire crews are battling a 150-acre brush fire along the Snake River near the Idaho-Washington state border.

The Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) reported the fire on July 3rd around 3 p.m. The fire is burning through brush and grass near Snake River.

According to IDL, fire crews, assisted by other agencies and aircraft dropping retardants, are actively working to contain the fire. While structures are present in the area, none are currently threatened, and no evacuation orders have been issued.
