13-year-old girl recovered from Clear Lake identified

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. – The Spokane County Medical Examiner has confirmed the identity of the 13-year-old girl who went missing in Clear Lake.

Her name was Addyson Shafer. Her official cause of death was accidental drowning.

On July 27, Shafer jumped into the water from a boat at around 12:45 p.m. and did not resurface. She was later pulled from the water around 5 p.m. by a dive and rescue team.
