OTHELLO, Wash. — A 16-year-old was arrested after a drive-by shooting in Othello earlier this month.

According to the Othello Police Department (OPD), officers received the report of the shooting on May 20, four days after the shooting took place. OPD said there were no reports received at the time of the shooting.

Officers arrived at the scene and gathered surveillance video, which showed consistencies with a drive-by-shooting.

On May 24, the 16-year-old suspect was found and taken into custody during a traffic stop. A search warrant was used on the car, and officers located a gun believed to be used in the shooting.

The 16-year-old was booked into the Martin Hall Juvenile Facility in Medical Lake, where he faces second-degree assault, drive-by-shooting, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a dangerous weapon and driving without a license.

This remains an active investigation.
