180-acre wildfire burning near Wilson Creek

WILSON CREEK, Wash. — A 180-acre wildfire is currently burning near Wilson Creek at Road 31, with crews actively battling the blaze.

Several agencies, including a firefighting helicopter and two airplanes, are on scene, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies have confirmed that the town of Wilson Creek is not in immediate danger, and there are currently no evacuations in place.

Deputies said the aircraft are utilizing water from Billy Clapp Lake. Boaters are advised to reach shore to allow the aircraft to operate safely.

Road R northeast in Wilson Creek and Road 31-Northeast are closed until further notice.
