SPOKANE, Wash. — The teenager who was killed in near Emerson Park early Sunday morning was identified.
19-year-old Maria Kapustin died from a gunshot wound to the torso, the Spokane County Medical Examiner confirmed.
On July 7, the Spokane Police Department (SPD) confirmed they responded to a possible drive-by shooting on West Courtland Avenue. SPD arrived at the scene and found Kapustin with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Police weren’t yet able to provide details on the suspect or any vehicle associated with the shooting. SPD is asking anyone with information on this shooting to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
