SPOKANE, Wash. – The man involved in yesterday morning’s fatal shooting in the Garland district has been charged with First-Degree Murder.
Caleb N. Carder, as per the Spokane Police Department (SPD), now faces First Degree Murder charges in connection to the death of a man shot following a driving altercation. Detectives originally developed probable cause to charge Caleb N. Carder, 28, with Second Degree Murder but upgraded it to First.
Carder is set to appear in court for the first time this afternoon.
SPD arrested Carder, 28, who was involved in the deadly shooting that occurred in the Garland District.
On May 23, around 5:30 a.m., . Officers arrived within minutes at the intersection of Garland and Wall and located a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to Spokane police, after police attempted to administer life-saving efforts. Police said the suspect was still on the scene when officers arrived and was quickly detained. SPD’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) responded and initiated an investigation.
Investigators were able to obtain video evidence showing a driving interaction between the suspect and the victim beginning at least a block from the shooting scene.
Carder was subsequently booked into the Spokane County Jail.
Police stated that the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s name at a later date.
