SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – The Spokane Valley Fire Department responded to the Aspen apartment complex for a fire that injured 2 and displaced more residents.
The call came in around 1:30 a.m. on Monday morning at the Spokane Valley apartment complex, with reports of over 30 units filled with fire and smoke.The fire destroyed a total of 6 apartment units, and fire crews are inspecting 6 more, leaving around 15-20 people looking for another housing option.All 12 units suspected of fire damage were evacuated, and the Red Cross is assisting those affected.According to SVFD, some pets that lived in the apartment complex died.One person was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and another person was taken for injuries. Their current conditions are unknown.The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
