2 people found dead after reported shooting in northeast Spokane identified

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – The two people found dead after a reported shooting in northeast Spokane on Friday night have been identified by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office.

37-year-old Colton Russell and 23-year-old Kiara Morgan-Weiland died near East Cleveland Avenue and North Cuba Street on Dec. 8. The cause of their death has not been released at this time.

On Dec. 8, the Spokane Police Department responded to several reports of gunshots in the area of Cleveland and Cuba just after 11 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Russell and Morgan-Weiland dead on the scene.

Police are still searching for the suspect in this alleged shooting. Anyone who has surveillance footage from the area who officers have yet to contact is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.

Spokane’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating this incident.
