Eight FOX shows were honored last week when the 2017 Emmy Award nominations were announced. From animated programs to reality competition series, from scripted dramas to comedies, there was a wide variety of accolades for the FOX Primetime line-up.
Voice actors for Bob’s Burgers (Kevin Kline as Mr. Fishoeder), Family Guy (Seth MacFarlane as Stewie, Peter, and Brian Griffin as well Glenn Quagmire), and The Simpsons (Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpson) all received nominations for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance. Bob’s Burgers and The Simpsons also received nods in the Outstanding Animated Program category.
So You Think You Can Dance was nominated twice for the Outstanding Choreography prize, as well as for Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Series. SYTYCD wasn’t the only FOX reality series to be recognized this year, as Gordon Ramsay of Masterchef Junior received a nomination for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program.
Not to be out-done, scripted shows got their fair-share of nominations as well, with Empire for Outstanding Contemporary Costumes for a Series/Limited Series/or Movie, Brooklyn Nine-Nine for Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Comedy Series or Variety Program, as well as Gotham for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series and Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role. Gotham received a third nomination for Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series/Limited Series/or Movie, while The Simpsons received a third nomination for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media Within a Scripted Series.
