2,700 Idaho residents in the dark Monday morning from power outage

COUER D’ALENE, Idaho – There are over 2,700 people in the Couer d’Alene area without power on Monday morning.

Avista is currently working to restore power and the estimated time of restoration is 1:30 p.m. and the cause is still under investigation.

The area out of power is southeast of Downtown Couer d’Alene near Eddyville and Wolf Lodge.

Avista said in the project comments, “The outage has been reported. We are identifying and scheduling resources to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.”

It is unknown if the outage is caused by the geomagnetic storm that swept the region.
