ORONDO, Wash. – On Friday evening, Douglas County Fire District 4 (DCFD4) stopped a wildfire that had burned three acres of a state park. No injuries were reported.
On May 17 at 6:30 p.m., DCFD4 responded to a wildfire that had occurred in Darago State Park, along the Columbia River four miles north of Orondo.
14 firefighters, supported by six fire engines, spent three hours on-site combating the blaze, which had been contained to three acres.
According to the Douglas County Fire, park rangers evacuated campers as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety.
DCFD4 is currently investigating the cause of the fire, and no injuries or property damage has been reported.
