4 people and 2 pets displaced after duplex fire in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE, Wash. – Four people and two pets have been displaced from a duplex in Spokane Valley after a fire broke out.

Around 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday the Spokane Valley Fire Department responded to a duplex on fire on the 12400 block of 12th Avenue.

Firefighters evacuated all residents living inside the duplex and found the fire burning inside a bedroom.

They worked quickly to knock down the flames preventing the spread of damage, but one half of the duplex was deemed unlivable.

The half of the duplex that was damaged housed four residents and two pets who are now receiving aid from Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no one was injured in the incident.
