CHEWELAH, Wash. – 49° North Mountain Resort has announced that its 2024-2025 winter season will officially begin on Nov. 22.
According to a press release, the resort plans to open with service from five lifts, including Northern Spirit Express, Sunrise Quad, Payday, Silver Lode, and the Gold Fever Conveyor. The resort anticipates a strong opening weekend with significant terrain available and favorable early-season snow conditions.
The resort said that they will operate from Friday through Tuesday each week, with Wednesdays and Thursdays off, until Dec. 20, when daily operations are set to begin. Recent storms have brought heavy, wet snow to the region, and additional snow is expected in the coming days. Temperatures are predicted to drop and stabilize over the weekend, creating ideal conditions for snowmaking and grooming.
“With the recent weather patterns, we are in a good position to set a solid base and provide excellent groomed surfaces for opening day,” said Eric Bakken, General Manager of 49° North. “We’ve made significant investments in our snowmaking system, which, combined with favorable conditions, will help us deliver some of the best early-season snow in years.”
The resort said they expect that the combination of recent snowfall, snowmaking capabilities and careful planning will help provide a strong start to the season, with excellent conditions continuing into the weeks ahead.
