SPOKANE, Wash. – At least five Spokane police officers are injured after pursuing a suspect believed to be connected to a drive-by shooting.
In a planned police operation, officers pursued the suspect when a crash occurred near North Oak Street and West Carlisle Avenue.
Around 1 p.m., the cars collided, prompting a heavy police presence in the Emerson/Garfield neighborhood.
The Spokane Police Department has several people in custody in connection to the incident.
The injuries sustained by the officers appear to be non-life-threatening.
