HOPE, Idaho – One person is dead after losing control of their car during the winter storm on Wednesday.
According to the Idaho State Police (ISP), a 69-year-old woman was driving on State Highway 200 near milepost 43 around 9:23 a.m. on Jan. 17. ISP said the woman lost control of her car, slid into a ditch, hit a guardrail, fell down a steep embankment where the vehicle eventually flipped.
ISP said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. She was transported to the Bonner General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
This crash remains under investigation.
