WALLA WALLA, Wash. — Deputies arrested a wanted felon who was hiding for four days.
According to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office, Stephan Cleveland was taken into custody Friday night following a SWAT standoff in Walla Walla.
On April 22, Cleveland stole a car with a three-year-old inside at a gas station. A woman called deputies saying she was having domestic problems with Cleveland.
Deputies say that spike strips in Oregon stopped the car, but Cleveland got away. Deputies have also reported that the child is now safe.
Cleveland is facing multiple charges, including kidnapping and hit and run. Another wanted suspect was found hiding on the property during the search.
