RATHDRUM, Idaho — Drivers in Rathdrum should plan to use alternative routes during a month-long closure of Mill Street.
The Idaho Department of Transportation (IDT) announced the roadway will be rebuilt between SH-53 and the railroad tracks starting May 6. Crews will focus on lowering the grade of the road and gas line underneath while replacing and improving curbs and sidewalks.
IDK said this is part of their project to widen SH-53 and replace its existing sidewalks between Latah Street and Sylte Ranch Road. IDT said their priority is to improve safety and mobility for drivers and pedestrians.
Drivers should plan to use the posted detour at Main Street from SH-41. There is not a confirmed date for reopening at this time.
