OTHELLO, Wash. – An Othello man is accused of failing to comply with a court order to register as a sex offender and fleeing to Texas. He was arrested on Thursday.
According to the Othello Police Department, Jesus Antonio Gutierrez-Guerrero was taken into custody by the US Marshal Service in McAllen after law enforcement lost track of him in the summer of 2023.
Gutierrez-Guerrero was convicted of unlawful imprisonment with sexual motivation in 2021 for an incident involving a 13-year-old in his Othello home. The Othello Police Department says that it is recommending new child rape charges to the Adams County Prosecutor’s Office.
“In 2022, the 13-year-old girl ran away from her home…and was missing for 18 months. In 2023, she was dropped off at a Moses Lake hospital and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. She was 15 years old at the time…Othello PD detectives were called and initiated a sexual assault investigation,” the department said.
Gutierrez-Guerrero is currently in a McAllen jail and will be sent back to Washington to face prosecution in Adams County.
