Teen dead after being pulled from Spokane River

SPOKANE, Wash. – A search of the Spokane River resulted in a dead teenager being pulled out of the water by a dive team on Wednesday evening.

According to the fire department, four young people jumped into the water off of a footbridge near the Riverfront Park visitor’s center.

Only three of the minors emerged and a fourth was pulled out of the water after being submerged for over an hour by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office dive team.

The child, who was in their early teens, was confirmed dead by the fire department on Wednesday night.
