SPOKANE, Wash. – This weekend is the annual Asian Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (ANHPI) Heritage Festival at Riverfront Park. There will be 120+ vendors with a lot of food.
Dancers of all ages from several different cultures will perform.
There will be a luau, fire dancers, kids’ craft stations and petting zoo.
May 10th is Vietnamese heritage Day (4-7 p.m.) May 11th is Luau and fire knife show (5-7 p.m.) May 12th is a general celebration with performances (11 a.m. – 4 p.m.)
Speaking specifically about the Hula that you can expect, performers will show multiple different styles, including ancient, playful, and storytelling.
This is also the first time that the Cheney school district will bus their Marshallese club at Cheney High School to Riverfront Park to perform on Saturday.
They will perform two separate dances, but keep your eyes peeled because it starts with their march to the stage where they will essentially dance their whole way up.
This event is free to the public to attend.
