MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. — Terri Cooper suspended her campaign for the 5th Congressional District after weeks of campaigning.
According to a release from Terri Cooper, as the current Mayor of Medical Lake, her priorities lie within her local community.
“In light of all the unfinished business and the aftermath of the Gray Road and Elk fires, I can’t in good conscience leave my post as Mayor and the continued fire recovery efforts of the Spokane region. This is the right thing for me to do at this point in time,” said Cooper. “We have a lot of work to do locally and regionally, and I intend to continue working for the people I love and serve.”
Cooper started her campaign focusing on fairness in policy, truth in relationships, and servant leadership.
“It’s regular hard-working people who make up the heart and soul of this District,” Cooper said. “It’s important that these people have their voices heard and be represented in Washington, D.C. I’ve done my best to bring their issues to the forefront of the discussion, and I’ll continue to contend for their place at the table. It’s time that the politicians stop and listen to all the voices of the people of the 5th District, not just the elites and extremes.”
