GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — US 243 is blocked in both directions due to a wildland fire and smoke covering the roadway.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the closure is at milepost 23. There is no estimated time for reopening, as smoke is causing poor visibility.
WSP said northbound traffic is being detoured up Beverly Burke Road. At this time, southbound traffic is not being detoured.
The Washington State Department of Transportation is en route to the scene. This remains an active investigation, you should avoid the area.
