SPOKANE, Wash. Kalae Chock has found a new co-anchor on the road! She’s in Houston with our very own NonStop Local Junior Journalist, Chloe Bockelie.
Chloe and Kalae sent us a message Tuesday after landing in Texas.
“It’s 10 o’clock at night. We finally made it to Houston. We’re here at the Kemah Boardwalk, which is a popular place for tourists to come, visit to try crawfish for the first time,” Kalae shared. “We came here and everything’s closed because it took us a while to get here to Houston. Today, tomorrow is going to be a good day because we’re just a few miles away from the Johnson Space Center. But you’re looking forward to tomorrow. Today was a long one. [Chloe,] tell everyone why.”
“Well, first our flight was delayed from 12:50 pm to 2:30pm. So we got here around 6:00 pm, maybe 7:00 pm, and then we had a lot of trouble getting a rental car and we ended up leaving the rental place at like 8:30,” Chloe said. “So now we’re just trying to find food, go home and sleep.”
“I said, you know, ‘it’s kind of part of being on assignment. You never know what’s gonna happen while you’re traveling. And then the crazy lady that you’re working with might make you talk to a camera before we get fed,’” Kalae added. “So thank you for this experience allowing me to come on assignment with you early to Houston. Let’s go get fed and let’s get ready for a big day at the Johnson Space Center!”
