OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington Secretary of State announced all candidates for the state’s August primary elections have been certified on Tuesday. The candidates list includes the withdrawals of two men named Bob Ferguson who were paid by a conservative activist to run alongside Attorney General Bob Ferguson (D).
According to The Spokesman-Review, conservative media personality Glen Morgan paid two Washington men named Bob Ferguson to file for the governor’s race. The stunt was likely an effort to confuse Democratic voters and drew legal scrutiny from the Attorney General’s campaign.
The full list of candidates who will appear on the August 6 primary ballot includes withdrawals from both of the two obscure Fergusons, each of whom filed using the same address on Friday.
