SPOKANE, Wash. – University High School is mid-way through their very busy theatre season presenting ‘Legally Blonde the Musical’ to the community.
Three students gave us a behind-the-scenes look into how the community stepped up for them and their love for this production.
“We have had so much support; it’s been amazing,” said University High School student Emily Dillabough. “We are so thankful and so lucky to have this amazing community backing us.”
The students have put in countless hours to make this production come together and are grateful for the support and engagement they have received from the crowd and the local community.
Community engagement and support are crucial for productions like this to highlight the growing arts and theatre departments at local high schools.
“Sometimes the arts can be forgotten, so a lot of times schools focus on sports, and a lot of funding goes towards that,” University High School student Ashlyn Barlow said. “But now that theatre is becoming broader, so many people are realizing that ‘wow, this actually really cool’.”
If you would like to support them, you can track their progress and updates on their Facebook page here.
They also have just a few shows left that you can purchase tickets to here. Tickets are $15 dollars for general admission and $10 for students.
