COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – A man suspected of kidnapping and raping a minor in 2002 was a Vice President of Facilities at Kootenai Health until a few months ago.
Eric Ferguson According to the sheriff’s office, he was a suspect in a two decade old case out of Oakley, California.
Ferguson was a Vice President of Facilities at Kootenai Health for about two years starting in 2022.
Kootenai Health responded to the arrest Friday night and emphasized that he has not been employed by the organization for several months.
“We are deeply disturbed and surprised by these allegations. We extend out heartfelt sympathy to the victim…We had no prior knowledge or information related to the arrest during his employment,” a Kootenai Health representative said.
Ferguson is currently in Kootenai County jail awaiting extradition to California.
