SPOKANE, Wash. — The Armed Forces Torch Light Parade is making its way through Spokane for the 86th year on Saturday night.
The parade celebrates and honors military forces around the Northwest, including those stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base.
According to the City of Spokane, the Spokane Lilac Festival is following the theme of “Dare to Dream” in honor of the Expo ’74. This year’s parade will feature Honorary Grand Marshals, the family of the father of Expo 74 and King Cole.
The Spokane Lilac Festival Association finds ways to reach out to all branches of service in the area. They participate in Toys for Tots with the Marine Corps every year and volunteer at Fairchild.
