SPOKANE, Wash. – As Memorial Day approaches regional airports begin to prepare for an influx of travel and high traffic with the single busiest day at GEG projected to be May 23.
More than 6,700 passengers are expected to be screened at Spokane’s International Airport on Thursday and airport agents have already begun preparing.
TSA agents say travelers especially from Thursday, May 23 through Tuesday, May 28 should arrive earlier than normal and expect longer than normal wait times for all airport operations.
“Memorial Day kicks off the summer travel season and planning has been underway at TSA for the past several months,” said TSA Federal Security Director for Washington Greg Hawko.
