OLYMPIA, Wash. – MultiCare announced an affiliation agreement with Overlake Medical Center and Clinics Tuesday which will expand the MultiCare network in Washington.
According to MultiCare, the agreement will turn Overlake into a new part of the MultiCare network.
“Overlake and its network of clinics will comprise the new North Sound region,” a MultiCare statement sent to media said.
Several large scale mergers have consolidated the healthcare industry down to a few key players over the past two decades,
MultiCare says the change will not impact Overlake’s culture or administrative composition.
“Overlake’s Board of Trustees, leadership team, medical staff structure and local Foundation will remain,” MultiCare said.
A new website entitled ‘Overlake Forward’ includes promotional materials explaining the merger and a map showing Overlake as the new North Sound branch of the MultiCare system.
The affiliation agreement awaits regulatory approval and is expected to move forward by mid-2024 according to MultiCare.
