SPOKANE, Wash. – Court documents revealed more details and information about the deadly shooting that occurred Thursday morning in the Garland District.
According to court documents, ., 911 dispatchers received calls of a shooting with a victim in the area of Garland and Wall.
Multiple Spokane Police Department patrol cars arrived on the scene and encountered two men, one suffering a gunshot wound and another trying to administer medical aid to the victim.
The man administering medical aid was later identified by police as Caleb N. Carder, 28; police then asked Carder where the shooter went and Carder replied that he was the shooter.
Police said that Carder told them that he had placed a gun on the seat of his car. Police then tried to administer life-saving efforts to the victim but were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced dead. .
Police then later questioned witnesses near the scene, where they said that the shooter’s car passed the victim’s car, cut him off and stopped in the middle of the lane. According to witnesses, both men got out of their car and looked like they were going to fight.The victim then started running away with Carder shooting and, according to a business owner, “emptied a whole clip” and saw the victim fall to the ground.
and was subsequently booked into the Spokane County Jail.
Carder’s bond is set at $5 million.
