Washington will launch its first ever LGBTQ+ survey during Pride Month

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington will launch the first ever state-wide LGBTQ+ survey June 1.

According to the Washington LGBTQ+ Commission, the survey will be conducted by a team of Washington State University (WSU) LGBTQ+ researchers.

“The LGBTQ Commission will use the findings to inform their policy recommendations to the Office of the Governor and the Washington State Legislature,” the commission said.

The commission was and makes recommendations to the executive branch on improving the government’s relationship with queer Washingtonians.

Survey responses will be anonymous and include information about identities, perspectives and experiences in the community.

WSU researchers conducting the survey will be at several Pride events throughout June, including Seattle, Spokane and Tri-Cities Pride. The team includes several masters and PhD students at the school who specialize in public policy.
