CHELAN, Wash. – Level 3 (go now!) evacuations are now in place for a wildfire burning near Chelan specifically in the Rex Creek area. The wildfire has burned at least 300 acres of land.
Level 3 means go, residents in the area in immediate danger. DNR asks residents even if you don’t see the danger, follow your plans and leave.

Level 1 (be ready!) evacuations are in place for a wildfire burning near Chelan that has scorched at least 300 acres.
According to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), they are responding to a wildfire approximately 31 miles northwest of Chelan, up the lake near the east shore. The fire is at least 300 acres and was called out an June 8 around 12:45 p.m. as a 10 to 15 acre fire. DNR said that both air and ground crews have been assigned and are actively battling the fire.
Level 1 evacuations are in place at Prince Creek North to Cascade Creek. Those under a evacuations warning should monitor local media outlets, gather emergency supplies plan escape routes and make sure you have a plan of action. No structures are threatened at this time.
DNR also announced the closure of the Lakeshore Trail from Prince Creek to Moore Point.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and crews are still battling the fire.
