MOSES LAKE, Wash. —Two people were injured after speeding and crashing into a metal post in Moses Lake Saturday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), a car was speeding southbound on State Route 17 near milepost 57 when the driver attempted to pass on the right. The driver went off the roadway, crashed into a metal post and ended up in a local parking lot near the 76 Gas Station.
According to WSP, the driver, 25-year-old Tomie Gonzalez, was airlifted to Central Washington Hospital. Gage Remington, 21, was also injured and was taken to the Good Samaritan Hospital. WSP reported that the four people in the car were not wearing their seatbelts when the crash occurred.
WP believes that there was no influence of drugs or alcohol.
