FERRY COUNTY, Wash. — During a routine patrol, a Ferry County Sheriff’s Office deputy rescued an injured owl in the middle of a highway.
On June 15, Deputy Milburn was conducting his nightly patrol when he turned onto Highway 21 North. The Ferry County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy found a scared and injured owl in the middle of the highway.
The deputy worked to capture the owl and notified the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.
On June 16, the injured owl was taken to a local licensed falconer, where it will stay until it’s fully recovered. Once healed, WDFW can take the animal to a rehab facility.
