COEUR D ‘ALENE, Idaho – The , an organization raising money for scholarships in Kaylee Goncalves and Maddison Mogen’s name, made a big announcement on Monday.
The foundation said it got the blessing from Xana Kernodle’s family to include her in the organization.
Kaylee Goncalves, Maddison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin were in Moscow in November of 2022.
The foundation started with Kaylee and Maddie, but according to Shayla Anderson, the community engagement coordinator, they’ve had hopes to honor Xana as well.
“There’s a couple of little things and tweaks that we’ve got to work out, but moving forward we’re super excited to include her in that. It’s always been something that we’ve wanted to do, but things like this take time and we wanted to do it the right way and make sure that we have the family’s blessing behind us,” Anderson said Monday.
The Made With Kindness Foundation hosted the 1st Annual Make It Pink Gala on Saturday to raise money for local scholarships. Anderson said it was a huge success.
If you weren’t able to attend the gala, you can donate at a barbeque being hosted by the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and the FOP on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Coeur d’Alene Black Sheep parking lot. They’ll be selling apparel and accepting donations.
