QUINCY, Wash. – A child had to be flown to a Seattle hospital after being sucked under a lawnmower and severing their foot at daycare.
The Quincy Police Department responded to Rodriguez Daycare at the 300 block of C Street Northeast around 11:15 a.m. on Monday for a child that was stuck under a lawnmower.
When police arrived, they found a young child that had been sucked under the blade of an older riding lawn mower and had severed its foot.
Crews on scene were able to rescue the child from under the mower and immediately treated the child for injuries to the right foot.
The man driving the lawnmower was compliant with police and Quincy police labeled it as a ‘tragic accident’.
The child was flown to a Seattle hospital due to the extent of the injuries.
The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families has taken over the investigation.
No arrests have been made in the incident.
