Suspect arrested in connection to early morning stabbing incident in downtown Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department (SPD) has arrested a man in connection with a stabbing incident in downtown Spokane.

According to SPD, on June 28, around 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing following an altercation between two men near 200 South Division Street. Police stated the suspect used a piece of broken glass to slash the victim.

During the altercation, one of the men sustained a cut across the side of his face. The suspect fled the scene, prompting a search by police.

The suspect was located walking east of the incident location but initially did not cooperate with SPD officers. However, he was later arrested without further incident.

Elisha Geiger, 24, was taken to Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree assault and obstruction. The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital. Police noted that Geiger has a history of prior arrests for assault in the local area.
