SPOKANE, Wash. — Hoopfest is over, and more than 1,000 players went home with injuries treated by MultiCare.
According to MultiCare, they treated 1,184 patients throughout the tournament. MultiCare staff treated injuries, including 29 fractures, 23 dislocations, three concussions, and 189 sprains and strains. They also reported treating 21 Achilles ruptures, 24 knee injuries, 10 cases of dehydration, 33 lacerations, 296 wounds, 18 blisters and 538 shoe tape-ups.
With tents stationed around Hoopfest, MultiCare staff made sure to prepare for every scenario possible that both fans and athletes would face throughout the long and hot summer day games.
At all locations, physicians, athletic trainers, and medical assistants were on site to treat any injury that came their way.
