1000+ acre brush fire in Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. – There was 1000+ acre brush fire burning near Highway 172 Thursday afternoon.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the highway was temporarily closed between Mileposts 10 and 13 as fire crews battled the flames, but has since reopened.

The fire is estimated at 1000+ acres and was potentially caused by a downed power line according to the sheriff’s office.
