SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley Fire Department (SVFD) rescued a man at the bottom of the riverbank after a rope swing accident.
According to SVFD, they received a call about a man who was hurt from a rope swing east of Boulder Beach on the Spokane River around 7 p.m. on Sunday. The man was able to get himself out of the water but couldn’t make it up the riverbank.
The SVFD Technical Rescue Team, along with Spokane County Fire District 9 and the Spokane Fire Department, was able to safely execute a low-angle rope rescue and transfer the patient to the hospital.
According to SVFD, Upriver Drive was closed as crews worked to get the man to safety.
