SPOKANE, Wash. — A 19-year-old woman was killed in a drive-by shooting just northwest of Emerson Park early Sunday morning, according to police.
In a release, a spokesperson for the Spokane Police Department said officers responded to a call of a possible drive-by shooting along West Courtland Avenue. When they arrived, officers found a young woman later identified by family as Maria Kapustin, with what looked like a gunshot wound.
Police said Kapustin died at the scene.
After multiple calls for additional information, police could only confirm that the investigation is in its very early stages. Police at the scene weren’t yet able to provide details on the suspect or any vehicle associated with the shooting.
