SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane’s Children on the Sun trail but the Garland Bridge crossing North Market Street and East Garland was closed after the grand opening for further construction. It will reopen again on Friday.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), the bridge will be accessible for pedestrian and bike traffic for a few weeks before temporarily reclosing again.
“Due to a fabrication error of the permanent barrier that will span over the western half of the bridge, contractor crews will temporarily reopen the bridge,” WSDOT said.
After the fabrication of the barrier is completed, WSDOT says the bridge will close for another two weeks to complete the work.
