SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Public School district has banned the use of cellphones in classrooms according to The Spokesman Review.
The ban is part of a growing trend of municipal and state governments limiting student access to digital devices during class time, which education professionals and advocates argue can serve as a distraction from learning.
Elementary, middle and high schools will have varying levels of restrictions, with older students having more access to their devices during non-class school hours.
