SPOKANE, Wash. – The Downtown Spokane restaurant ‘The Viking’ caught fire Tuesday morning, and an investigation into the cause is underway.
Around 5:30 a.m., the Spokane Fire Department responded to the restaurant at the 1200 block of North Stevens Street.
A security guard passing by noticed the flames and called 911.
The exterior of the restaurant was engulfed in flames, but firefighters responded quickly to stop the spread.
The SFD reported that the outside of the building was damaged, with only smoke damage inside the building.
There was no one inside the building when it caught fire, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but the SFD said that an investigation is underway.
It is unknown what the status of the restaurant’s operations will be following the fire. NonStop Local has reached out to The Viking for information but has not heard back.
