JULIAETTA, Idaho – Level 3 (Go Now) evacuation orders have been issued for the city of Juliaetta due to the Gwen Fire.
Update July 25 5:15 p.m. – According to the Latah County Sheriff’s Office, the city of Juliaetta has been issued a Level 3 “Go Now” evacuation order.
Level 3 evacuation indicates a “Go Now” status, meaning immediate danger is affecting your area, and you should leave without delay or time to pack.
The Idaho State Police have begun shutting down roads and the State Highway as a fire threatens the area.
In an emergency alert to NonStop Local Level 3 (Go Now) evacuations are in place for:
2-mile radius of Swallow LaneMyrtle, Arrow Highline Road and Cherry Lane State Hwy 3 from Arrow Junction to the Latah County Line, Arrow Highline Road and all roads/lanes off of it.Clearwater Ridge and all roads/lanes off of It.Stony Point and all roads /lanes off of it.Hubbard Gulch from Cherrylane Road and River. Road to Leland Road and all roads/lanes off of it.
Level 2 (Get Set) evacuations are issued for the following areas:
McGary GradeMyrtle AreaGifford Reubens Road – south 3 miles from US Highway 12Leland RoadWeischman Road US Highway 12 from Arrow Junction to Cooks Paradise AcresRiver Road and all lanes / roads off of it
Level 1 (Be Ready) evacuations are issued for the following areas:
North Tom Beall Road Cottonwood Creek DrainageUS Highway 12 to LenoreRiver Road to LenoreLeland Road to LelandJuliaetta Area – Latah and Nez Perce County
The Latah County Sheriff’s Office also said that several roads and highways are closed due to the fire. According to the sheriff’s office Highway 3 from milepost 0-9 has been closed by ITD due to a wildfire.
The Idaho Transportation Department, and the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office are working with ISP to shut down State Highway 3 from US12 north to the Latah County line.
Law enforcement is asking people to avoid the area as they attack the fire.
