MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. – Emergency responders searched Clear Lake for a 13-year-old girl Saturday afternoon.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, the girl jumped into the water from a boat at around 12:45 p.m. and did not resurface.
Spokane County Fire District #3, sheriff’s deputies, a dive team and Life Flight crews responded to the incident.
Updated July 27 at 5:20 p.m. – A person was pulled out of the water at around 5:15 p.m. and emergency responders rendered CPR. The health status of that person, and whether they are the 13-year-old responders were searching for, is unclear.
Updated July 27 at 6 p.m. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a teen’s body was recovered from Clear Lake by a dive team Saturday evening. The identity of the girl and cause of death has yet to be released.
