Apartment fire extinguished on North Monroe Street, causes major traffic delays

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Fire Department (SFD) has successfully extinguished a fire at an apartment building on North Monroe Street.

The fire started on the second floor of the building, but all residents evacuated safely and no injuries were reported, according to SFD.

Spokane police and fire crews are redirecting traffic, and portions of Monroe Street between Broadway Avenue and West Bridge Avenue are closed.

The extent of the damage caused by the fire has not yet been determined.
