KELLER, Wash. – The Swawilla Fire burning near Keller was 70% contained Saturday morning.
According to the Colville Tribes Environmental Trust Program, burn operations to reduce fuel sources for the nearly 55,000 acre fire were successful and allowed fire crews to strengthen containment lines around the northern perimeter.
fire danger is still a threat and fire crews will continue to shore up containment lines throughout Saturday.
The nearby Bridge Creek Fire is 90% contained. Temporary Flight Restrictions are still in place for private drones in the area to avoid engendering planes and helicopters dumping water on the fires.
