SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane County Fire District 9 (SCFD 9) levy appeared to be on track to pass with 67% support Tuesday night.

The levy is meant to ensure that the district can afford equipment and facilities maintenance. It will collect $1.47 of assessed property value from homeowners starting in 2025.
“The levy will enable the District to maintain current staffing and service levels, while replacing crucial firefighting equipment such as self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and protective gear, both of which are nearing the end of their service life,” the district’s voter guide statement said.
The levy is on track to pass just as the district’s current Maintenance and Operation Levy is set to expire at the end of this year.
