Neighbor calls 911 in early morning house fire in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – A neighbor called 911 after seeing flames coming from the roof of a house near the Pasadena Park neighborhood.

The Spokane Valley Fire Department and Spokane County Fire District 9 responded to the 8300 block of East Sandlewood Lane around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

Firefighters attacked the flames after a neighbor reported seeing them coming from the roof.

The fire extended to the exterior of the house, spreading to the rear and eave line. After a short battle, fire crews successfully knocked it down, preventing further spread.

SVFD said that residents were home at the time of the fire but were evacuated and uninjured.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
